Our founder’s story
Ahmed Hanane trained as an industrial engineer, became a CFO, and founded doKumentive in 2016 to fix what he saw from the finance side: systems the numbers couldn’t be trusted in. Here’s that path in his own words.
In grade 9, my physics teacher told me I belonged in engineering. I studied industrial engineering and loved the work: rolling up my sleeves and fixing how things run, one process at a time.
I wanted more than the factory floor, so I studied business at the Schulich School of Business in Toronto and moved into finance, eventually as CFO.
As a CFO, I signed off on numbers from systems I didn’t fully trust, and I watched good people lose days to manual work. That’s the problem I wanted to solve.
I founded doKumentive in Toronto to deploy ERP systems, automate accounts payable and streamline business processes, with a finance person’s eye on every step.
When AI arrived, Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Business Central became my daily work. Today our team deploys, rescues and automates Dynamics 365, and we build controls in before anything runs on its own.
